Scottish Newsletter
This is an edited version of the Newsletter Sent to Members:
AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2002 Newsletter - At the time of writing we really have appreciated receiving our Autumn edition of the National journal ahead of our own September 14th meeting at Gartnavel and, with the National AGM rescheduled to take place in Birmingham on September 11th Marjorie will be able to share and discuss all the up to date information and news at first hand.
Consent forms are still trickling in and we would appreciate if all responses could be returned so that our records are kept up to date.
It seems almost inevitable after several years that subscriptions will have to be increased A vote may be taken on this on the 11th September.
The main focus of our June meeting was to discuss the future of the group.
Whatever the outcome at the Birmingham AGM it was self evident, from the views at our meeting, and from the response of returned consent forms, that maintaining our social contact across Scotland was of enormous importance. So also was the need to safeguard all that had been achieved since the inception of our group 11years ago.
The Committee also felt it of value to take out membership of the GCVS ( Glasgow Council for the Voluntary Sector) who provides considerable opportunities for up to date training, information and development skills.
Once the new regime is established we hope at least locally to make contact with those who are unable to attend the Gartnavel meetings.
The very nature of Sjogren’s produces highs and lows for us all.
We do appreciate hearing your news and hopefully making each of you, coping with illness or injury, feel valued and less isolated.
